Terms of service for Email to Google Calendar Sheets Add-on

Welcome! We’ve aimed to make these Terms of service straightforward and easy to understand.

By using the Email to Calendar Google Sheets Add-on (hereafter referred to as “the Add-on”), you agree to the following terms:

1. Data Collection and Usage:

  • Gmail Access: To function properly, the Add-on requires access to your Gmail account. This includes the ability to read email content and labels.
  • Calendar Access: The Add-on requires access to your Google Calendar to create events.
  • OpenAI API Key: You are responsible for providing and managing your own OpenAI API key. Usage of the OpenAI API is subject to OpenAI’s terms of service.
  • Limited Data Usage: The Add-on uses your email data solely for the purpose of identifying and extracting event information to create calendar events. This includes processing the body of your emails using AI.
  • No Data Storage: The Add-on does not permanently store your email data. All data processing is performed in memory.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share your email data with any third-party services outside of what is required to extract event data via the OpenAI API and adding them to your Google Calendar.

2. User Responsibilities:

  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and your OpenAI API key.
  • Accurate Information: You agree to provide correct calendar and API key details.
  • Compliance: You agree to use the Add-on in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Add-on Usage:

  • Functionality: The Add-on attempts to extract event data using AI, but accuracy is not guaranteed. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying events created by the Add-on.
  • No Liability: We are not liable for any inaccuracies or errors in the event data extracted by the Add-on or any issues arising from using this add-on. This includes any damage or losses incurred due to improper processing or event creation.

4. Termination of Access:

  • We reserve the right to terminate your access to the Add-on if we believe you have violated these terms of use or any applicable laws, or if your use of the Add-on is causing operational issues for the service.

5. Modifications to Terms:

  • These terms of use may be updated at any time, and your continued use of the Add-on constitutes acceptance of any changes. It’s your responsibility to regularly review these terms.

6. Disclaimer:

  • The Add-on is provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Acceptance:

  • By using the Add-on, you agree to these terms of use and understand the conditions under which your data will be processed. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Add-on.
